The ESWC announced that they would host World of Warcraft as an exhibition game during the ESWC Grand Final. The exhibition match will be taken place in the couple of days with two of the world's most famous teams, Millenium and Nihilum, doing battle in a 5v5 Arena match. There have been cries for player housing by the WoW community. Blizzard has never disregarded the idea, and played it safe by responding it could be in the works, but there is no final answer. This question was raised to Blizzard recently, they responded with the following.

Never is a long time. This is something that is on the table for the future, but not something we have immediate plans for. The timing of implementing something like this relies on what other projects may take priority. The implementation itself is also something that would need to be well thought out.

Again, just a dream at the moment for Blizzard, but who knows what will happen in the future.

There are rumors going around about a way to duplicate WoW Gold:

The thing is, make an alt with a name that violates the ToS like Crappycrap, or some other foul langauge, then mail all WoW gold you want to duplicate to this character, and do stuff to get someone to report you for that name. When the GM whispers you and asks you to logout and login to change name(try to be in a major city or near a mailbox when this happens.) within 5 minutes mail out your WoW gold to another character and close the WoW window(OR ALT+f4), this way your character was not recorded the moment of mail because it wasnt a "formal" logout and when you log back in after changing name your character will be at the progress of about 5 minutes before the logout, due to that game records progress every little while, that includes all the WoW gold, so the WoW gold will arrive at its destination(your other alt) and the renamed character will have the WoW gold, and anything you vendored just before logout back.

Jan. 17, 2006 - Blizzard entertainment is enjoying the fact that they have his 5 million subscribers in North America, Europe, and Asia, but many of their customers are not happy with the growth. Many are complaining of long wait times just to play the game as there are created major logjams of traffic rushing into their system.

Some have also complained of incessant server crashes making game-play difficult at best. Players are now wondering if WoW has gotten too big. So not only to players wait in an old fashioned queue system with wait times of up to 30 minutes, but they may have their game-play interrupted as the server crashes.

Blizzard has so far not said what is causing these problems but some believe that it's the rush of new accounts that were received over the holiday season. Up until a few months ago, logon's occurred almost instantly, but now they face lines of almost 500 long.

A post on PartingVision cites a February 2006 article from Computer Games Magazine as evidence for the new WoW alliance character race.

Fans have been stirring lots of sediment from the bottom of their coffee cups, trying to dredge up the answer that CGM purports, "Alliance players will enjoy playing as Draenei, and the new Blood Elf race gives the Horde faction its first exercise in what humans perceive as sex appeal (even though those Troll females are pretty cute)."

This rumor comes with a caveat from Blizzard, which in high diplomatic style neither confirms nor denies the veracity of CGM's claims, "we have not provided any information or made any announcements concerning the new Alliance race to any Web sites, magazines, or other media sources. While we don't want to discourage you from continuing your discussions on this matter, we ask that you keep that bit of information in mind. When we’re ready to announce the new race, we'll eagerly share as much information as we can with everyone on our community site."

No release date has be publicized for WoW's expansion, the Burning Crusades. And Blizzard's FAQ says that any news on the topic will arrive via their community website "in the months ahead."

An official statement from World of WarCraft developer Blizzard has announced that administrators have closed more than 18,000 user accounts for the massively multiplayer online role-playing (MMORPG) game in the past three months, for violations of the game's Terms of Use. According to the statement, the majority of these accounts were found to be using third party programs to farm gold and items – actions which have been found to negatively impact the virtual economy within the game.
